Description (from Amazon)Serena has learned to live with her past, locking her secrets and nightmares deep inside her. But when her boyfriend of six years abruptly leaves her, she’s catapulted back into pain, nursing a broken heart. When indulging in mountains of chocolate doesn’t work, Serena decides the best way to deal with her shattered heart is to indulge in something else. A rebound . . .

The night she swaps her usual Sprite for tequila, she meets James. The encounter is breathtaking.
Electrifying.
And best not repeated.

James is a successful entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. A man who has amassed a fortune by taking risks. A man who has shunned commitment completely, and still does. He’s the exact opposite of Serena. But sometimes opposites attract. Sometimes they give in to burning passion. Sometimes opposites are perfect for each other.

James is everything her damaged soul could want. His kisses are intoxicating, his touch out of this world. He makes her forget. He grants her peace from her pain. But as they grow closer, Serena discovers she isn’t the only one with a past. James carries the scars of a past much darker than hers. One that has left him damaged, hurt, and wary of love. A past that gives him the power to shatter her.

Now James and Serena must find a way to mend one another. Or risk losing each other forever.

My Review: I started off really liking Lost in Us because I liked the adventure and the challenge that James presented to Serena. He convinces her to do things she would have never thought to do which is what she needs because she is used to living her life safely and always knowing her next step. So it is a pleasant surprise when James does not tell her what they are doing on dates and is constantly surprising her.

However, I did not like how James continuously ran back to Natalie whenever he was upset. I understand why because of the eventual explanation but I do not understand how Serena continued to go back to him even though he was always with another women. Or why James could never see how much it hurt Serena that he did it.

Also, I did not like the friend interventions. I think that Jess, although she meant well, she was constantly going behind Serena's back to James. It works out alright in the end but I just can't but think that if one of my friends had kept doing what I asked her not to, we would no longer be friends, or at least not as close.

Similarly, James' friends don't hesitate to speak their minds about the relationship to Serena. They were more than happy to blame Serena for the fact that James decided to distance himself from Natalie but they couldn't understand how this might be hurtful to Serena. They also couldn't seem to understand that there should not be another women who is that important to James, especially a woman who has expressed attraction and a desire to steal James. I think that a relationship is between two people and friends should not be that involved.

Overall: In general, I liked Lost in Us. I really appreciated that there was not a cliffhanger ending. I also liked the sense of adventure throughout the novel that complemented the romance. I give this novel 3.5 - 4 stakes.

Description: Kenleigh Briggs suffered debilitating depression at the age of twelve after losing both parents in a tragic house fire. Her aunt assumed guardianship and forced Kenleigh to learn how to horseback ride. She soon developed a bond with the horses that helped her work out and deal with her depression.

Seven years later, young Kenleigh is now a sophomore at the University of Texas, San Antonio. During summer break, she arrives at Serenity Falls, a horse ranch devoted to helping children with disabilities learn to ride. She loves watching the kids build the same healing bonds with the horses that she did. She really finds satisfaction in paying it forward.

Wesley Adams, the son of the ranch’s owners, is a professional bull rider who lives in Dallas. With his blond hair, Caribbean blue eyes, and tattooed muscular body, he is the epitome of every woman’s dream. Wesley is good guy, but he harbors a past he's not proud of

Kenleigh has learned to take life head on. Content with the way her life is going, Kenleigh never expected Wesley. He takes Kenleigh on the ride of her life, but will she accept him faults and all? As Kenleigh and Wesley discover a love like they have never known, will they also discover the best parts of life they are missing?

My Review: I'm not really sure how I felt about Serenity Falls. I really liked the camp and the way the characters help children with disabilities or emotional problems. However, the focus of the book is the relationship between Kenleigh and Wesley.

I think the relationship between them was nice but a little rushed. It seemed to me that all the two did was work at the camp and go to bonfires. The two didn't really seem to have any meaningful moments other than the times they have sex.

Wes appears to be a nice, sweet guy but he has his problems which makes him human. However, there was just something about him that I just didn't like for some reason. I think it was the way he acted when he thought Kenleigh was making fun of him or the way he acted when she no to him. It just seemed a little too over the top and it just rubbed me the wrong way.

I liked how Kenleigh worked through her emotional issues after her parents died in a house fire and how she channeled that into helping children. I am happy that Kenleigh and Wes ended up together but I am not sure if I liked the way they got there.

Quick Opinion: I enjoyed this novel and I liked that Kenleigh and Wes ended up together. However, I wasn't thrilled with this novel. I didn't really like the relationship because Wes seemed to want to rush everything. The timeline of the relationship really work for me. I think that it was much to rushed and the couple didn't have any meaningful, romantic moments. I give Serenity Falls 3.5 stakes.

Get to Know the AuthorsTiffany: I am 28 years old, with a wonderful family. My husband is in the Army, and we have two wonderful children. Ashley and I have been best of friends since we were 13. I recently graduated from South University with my Associate's Degree as a Paralegal. I enjoy listening to music, playing with my kids, and going to the beach, and anything that has to do with the outdoors pretty much. I’ve always liked to write, but never really had an interest in reading until the summer of 2012. I am so excited to be taking my writing journey with Ashley. I have many authors that I consider my favorite so I’ll just name a few: E.L. James, S.C. Stephens, Molly McAdams, Rebecca Donovan, K.A. Linde, Marie Coulson, and S.H. Kolee.

Ashley: Ashley grew up in Texas but now has joined her husband to reside in Virginia. She is a military wife and mother to two adorable children. She’s always wanted to travel having grown up in a small town. Her interest in reading sparked last summer and now she’s a lost cause without her e-reader. Since she loves to travel, the places she gets to go in her fictional books are what any girl could ask for. When Ashley isn’t glued to her computer you can find her outdoors either playing with her children or relaxing and enjoying the sun reading a good romance novel.

___________________________________________________________________________

Description (from Goodreads.com)Now that Lucas has declared his love for her, Sienna is sure the drama between them is over.

She’s not afraid of Lucas’s ex-wife or whatever secret the other woman is holding over him. For two blissful days—the remainder of Sienna’s contract with Lucas—they hole up in a vacation house in the mountains of Tennessee, consuming each other. At the end of their stay, Lucas comes to Sienna with a proposition: his band, Your Toxic Sequel, is going on tour with Wicked Lambs, and he wants her with him the entire time. Sienna agrees to work wardrobe and be his official girl.

Life on the road is different from anything Sienna has ever known. Not only does she have to deal with Lucas’s band members, but she’s also forced to be around Cilla, the lead singer of Wicked Lambs, who’s clearly in love with Lucas. Despite horny band mates and a persistent gorgeous rock goddess determined to sink her claws into Lucas, Sienna stays by his side.

Then the threats start.

Lucas’s ex-wife Sam isn’t happy that he’s moved on, and Sam begins harassing Sienna—everything from threatening emails to phone calls and even fake accounts on Your Toxic Sequel message boards slamming her and spreading vicious rumors. Sienna keeps this from Lucas since she knows how bad Sam is for his music.

It’s not until Sienna is attacked by a crazed YTS fan hired by Sam, and Sam starts to aim her verbal threats at Sienna’s grandmother, that Lucas finally reveals his secret. And it’s a big one...

My Review: In this installment of the Devoured series by Emily Snow we finally get to learn the secret that Lucas has been hiding from Sienna and what Sam has over him. I have to admit that the secret is an interesting one. I was not expecting it to be what it was. However, I'm not sure how I felt about how it was resolved. The way that the plot about the secret ended was very sad and wasn't 100% satisfying for me. I think that the resolution was a little quick and that it could have been a bigger part of the overall plot.

I liked that Sienna goes on the road with Lucas because I think that this gives them a chance to become closer and enhance their relationship. Of course, because it is a rock band on tour there is going to be some drama. I liked how Sienna handled herself in some of these situations.

Sam blackmails Sienna for much of the novel and Sienna never really tried to stop it. She waits an extremely long time before she tells him and I think that much of the harassment could have been avoided if she told him sooner. I think that he would have attempted to do something to stop Sam, but I also think that all of this could have been avoided if Lucas would have just told Sienna what the secret was the many, many times that she asked.

I was happy to see the appearance of recurring characters because I like to see the rest of the bands and Lucas' sister. I would be interested in seeing some spin off books from these characters in the future.

Quick Opinion: Overall, I'm happy that the secret Lucas was keeping was finally revealed but I'm not sure how I liked the way everything was resolved. I think that after so much build up I was just expecting more. I give Consumed 4 stakes because I wasn't entirely thrilled.

I really like the Devoured Series and I was really happy with this continuation. Let me know if you have read this book or anything else by Emily Snow.
