Review of Anne Marsh's Reburn

Title: Reburn
Author: Anne Marsh

Genre: action, romance,
Publish Date: July 18, 2013
Publisher: eKensington (Kensington Books)
Length: 29,000 words, approx. 87 pages

Brief Summary: Ex-lovers Sam Clayton and Olivia Albert never expected to see each other again, especially not in the middle of a forest in the midst of a dangerous forest fire. A fire that also hides a terrorist being tracked by the FBI.

Review: Reburn surprised me because I did not know what to expect. I knew that Olivia and Sam would run into each other but I could not understand how they would reconnect while simultaneously tracking a terrorist and battling a forest fire. However, Anne Marsh has it all figured out. I loved Reburn and Sam and Olivia. The characterization of Sam seems so appropriate as he is physical outstanding, but also smart and protective of Olivia. Probably my favorite line from him is, "Fishing this agent out of the woods was going to be even more challenging than he'd anticipated." Similarly, Olivia is strong and completely competent in doing her job on her own. I think their reunion and reconnection is great with a realism and believability that not all romance books have. Reburn is definitely a book that everyone who loves romance, action, and fire fighting/rangers/FBI.

Overall: I really enjoyed Reburn. I have read a book about forest fires and I love the setting. I think it has something to do with the mental image of fire fighters and forest rangers put together ;) Anyway...the relationship between the hero and heroine is phenomenal. Sam is protective of Olivia while still allowing her to be the strong, independent FBI agent that she is. I give Reburn an impressed 4.5 out of 5 stars.

About the Author (from Amazon): After ten years of graduate school and too many degrees, Anne Marsh escaped to become a technical writer. When not planted firmly in front of the laptop translating Engineer into English, Anne enjoys gardening, running (even if it's just to the 7-11 for slurpees), and reading books curled up with her kids. The best part of writing romance, however, is finally being able answer the question: "So what do you do with a PhD in Slavic Languages and Literature?" She lives in North Carolina with her husband, two kids, and four cats. Visit her website
