Day 14 (Blogger Wish List of 2014):

This is the final day of the book blogger New Year's Challenge.

I don't really have that many things on my wish list.

On my wish list for 2014 I want to:

Reach 400 likes on my Facebook page
Reach 500 followers on Twitter
Get more comments on my posts
Blog more than I did in 2013
Provide better content
Have fun with blogging

 What's on your wish list?

This is the end of the challenge but here were the subjects of each day:

New Year's Challenge Day 13

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

The Book Blogger New Year's Challenge hosted by Parajunkee.

Day 13 (Share a Blogger Horror Story):

I have had a few minor heart attack moments while blogging but none that were exactly horror story. In the middle of writing a post I have had my computer shut down, blogger stop working, my internet freeze, and a saving or posting error. I have been fortunate enough not to have any major problems but I am looking for a way to archive my posts, not just one blogger, but so I don't lose them if anything happens. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

What is your blogger horror story?

New Year's Challenge Day 12

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

The Book Blogger New Year's Challenge hosted by Parajunkee.

Day 12 (How Do You Plan On Getting More Followers This Year):

This is something that I have actually been thinking about. I think that I want to comment more on other people's blogs and just connect with more people. I think I want to stop being so obsessive over watching how many followers I have and just work on getting more comments. I really like seeing comments and knowing that someone is actually reading what I am writing. I also want to work on my content. I think that if there is better content people will come.

What are you thinking about doing this year?

Day 11 (TBR Shelf: How Many?):

My Goodreads to-read shelf currently has 96 books on it.
However, there are probably about a hundred others that I want to read but
I just haven't written them down.

How many books are on your TBR shelf?

Day 10 (New Things You Will Be Doing This Year):

Something new I plan to do this year is start posting more than just reviews or cover reveals or memes. I have already begun to incorporate more than just this and I like to share more with you.

I also want to work on my time management this year and schedule more posts before the day.

Day 9 (Cons or Events You Hope to Attend):

New Year's Challenge Day 8

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

Day 8 (Your Favorite Book Blogger Moment):

My favorite blogger moment is the first time I was asked by an author to review a book, instead of me just reviewing. I still have the email saved from Sean C. Sousa about reviewing his book Flash, which was really good by the way.

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

Day 7 (Top Ten Book Blogger Pet Peeves):

*not in any particular order*

  1. Spam comments
  2. Not enough hours in the day
  3. Too many tempting books
  4. Spoilers anywhere. I hate spoilers and don't think they should be posted.
  5. Realizing you forget to schedule a post
  6. Hateful comments
  7. Balancing blogging and life
  8. Authors constantly asking when their review will be posted
  9. Obsessively watching follower counts
  10. Sometimes losing sight of why you started blogging.

New Year's Challenge Day 6

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

The Book Blogger New Year's Challenge hosted by Parajunkee.

Day 6 (Best Books of 2013):

There were a lot of books from 2013 that I really loved and I have been wanting to read it again or semi stalk the author. Some of them are:

Bethany Aan's Hearts of Ishira
(I've read this about 3 times in a matter of months)

April Bostic's The Howling Heart

Helena Newbury's In Harmony

Beth Fred's A Missing Peace

Sarah J. Pepper's Fallen Tears

Ripley Patton's Ghost Hand & Ghost Hold

Sarah Daltry's Bitter Fruits

These are just some of the many, many books that I enjoyed last year and I can't wait for what I read in 2014.

New Year's Challenge Day 5

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

The Book Blogger New Year's Challenge hosted by Parajunkee.

Day 5 (Worst Books of 2013):

I really don't like to say that a book was the worst or that it was bad, but some books that I can think of from 2013 that I didn't particularly like were:

5) Larry Rodness' Perverse
4) Marie Stephens' The Mating Call
3) M.G. Dekle's The Crystal Ordeal (Legends of Leone)
2) Nasheen Sadir's A Second Chance for Christmas

And the worst book that I read in 2013 was Colleen Houck's Tiger's Destiny.

It is the fourth book in the series and I was absolutely infuriated after reading it. I was so happy to finally read the conclusion as I read the first three books in previous years and for some reason put off reading this one.

I sincerely wish I'd never read this book. I literally threw the book as soon as I turned the last page.
This series, much like the Twilight series, involves a love triangle. This one is between two brothers. Without going into too much detail I will say that I really liked the first two books, the third was ehh, and this one I wanted to burn. The main character Kelsey is whiny and annoying and just strings along one of the brothers to get to the other. But that's not what had me so irritated. It is the way the author ended the series and I guess decided to wrap up all the mysteries in the previous books. She involves some sort of weird time travel reincarnation explanation that left me more confused than I think I have ever been. I was so baffled I couldn't form complete sentences and my roommate let me babble on about the ridiculousness for about ten straight minutes. I would definitely warn anyone away from reading this book.

These are only a few that I can think of that I've read in 2013 that I didn't really like.

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

Day 4 (The Books of 2014 You Won't Miss):

Some books that  I definitely will not miss are Cress by Marissa Meyer, Shadow Spell (Book 2 of the Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy) by Nora Roberts, Crashed by K. Bromberg, Concealed in Death by J.D. Robb, and Final Vow by Kathleen Brooks.

New Year's Challenge Day 3

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

The Book Blogger New Year's Challenge hosted by Parajunkee.

Day 3 (The Books of 2013 You Are Sad You Missed): During 2013 I have missed a many many books because of my huge TBR pile. Some books that I have wanted to read but didn't are: Katie McGarry's Pushing the Limits, Jay Asher's The Future of Us, Perks of Being a Wallflower (which for some reason I have not read), Jay Crownover's Rule, and S.C. Stephens' Effortless and Reckless just to name a few.

There are hundreds more that I want to read but never got a chance to and a lot of books that I know are coming out soon tells me that I will be focusing on the books of 2014 than the books in 2013.

New Year's Challenge Day 1

Book Blogger New Year's Challenge

Today is the beginning of the Book Blogger New Year's Challenge hosted by Parajunkee.

Day 1 (Blogger Resolutions): My blogger resolutions are to blog more, provide better content, and to connect with other bloggers more. I want to blog more because I feel that some weeks were better than others in 2013. Some weeks I would post pretty much every day and then other weeks I would have maybe one post. I think that I can definitely do better to blog more in 2014.

I also want to provide better content in that I want to give more constructive reviews. I feel as if I already do that but I want to go more in depth with the book to give readers more of a feel for the book than just the surface content. I also want to do more with my blog such as this challenge, the vampire challenge and shifter challenge I have entered. I want to have more things on my blog than just review after review. I already started making some changes by changing the way the blog looks which I think is a big step for me.

In 2014 I want to connect with my fellow bloggers more. I want to leave more comments and talk to other bloggers. I think it would be great to get to know some bloggers beyond the memes and comments and blog tours.

Thank you. Please leave a comment about your own blogger resolutions and Happy New Years!
